Hamilton wins the Time Trial!

Here's one for the good guys..Marblehead Mass. native Tyler Hamilton wins the gold in the individual Time Trial today, beating out former US Postal teammate Viatcheslav Ekimov and fellow countryman Bobby Julich. We're glad for Tyler who had to pull out of the TdF this year after yet another crash has finally received some well deserved reward for all his hard work. Tyler is generally know as one of the nicest guys in the sport, and a fellow golden retriever lover. Tyler recently lost is best pal Tugboat...Amos never got to know Tugs, but even he was sad that day. Congrats Tyler, you no doubt earned this one..

Sheldon Slate..

On Sunday, Sarah, Amos and I drove to "Middle Granville, NY" to visit the guys at Sheldon Slate..Where is that you ask? (map) This area of the country is very famous for its slate, and we have decided to consider something other than granite or corian for our kitchen counters.  Sarah first saw slate in a Hancock Kitchens in Portland Maine.  What she actually saw was soapstone, not slate...but i am glad she didn't set her heart on soapstone (it only comes in black).  We spent 2+ ours with one of the owners, Pete Tatko and needless to say it was one of the coolest things we have done in this home building process and we are now 100% satisfied with our decision to put slate on our kitchen counters.  If you are ever considering a kitchen remodel or are building new, don't hesitate to give Pete a call and take the trek to eastern New York..It will be well worth the trip.  Here is a sample of what our counter-top will look like, as well as the island in the kitchen...

Framing pictures-progress update 8/18

I have included several pictures from inside the house.  Here is a general update, the framing is complete, the roof is on, the windows are in and the basement floor is poured.  For the past 2 weeks, the plumbers and electricians have been in the house and are very close to completion. A long overdue update

This is sort of a general apology to all the loyal viewers of Chrisladd.net.  This summer has been a very hectic one with the usual.  I apologize for not posting more frequently and will start today with several updates that that occurred with the house since late June.  I am using a new piece of software called BlogJet and its very cool...Check it out if you are looking for a fast and easy way to publish your blog.
